Psalm evening is the St. Olav Festival event which draws most people from all over the country. On that evening, The Archbishop’s Courtyard shows itself to be pleasant meeting place for people who love to sing and who want to be part of the community which generates such a good atmosphere. One of the few truly wonderful summer evenings – come and join in!
Bjarne Brøndbo will be there at the psalm evening to ensure that everyone is welcome. –I’m not very fond of singing songs in church that nobody knows. My role here is, in the words of the psalm, ‘to make the entrance high, and the door wide’. I believe that you can be a believer and a good Christian even if you’ve done things that are not in line with what’s written in the good book.
He recorded a collection of so-called popular psalms in 2003. He will perform some of them on this occasion.–Psalms that everyone uses, but which are never considered for a psalm book, that’s my thing. It’s all about making this acceptable. It’s all about life whatever way you look at it, says Brøndbo.
