Its leader is an international star and it delivers brilliant choral singing! Make a note of the name Conspirare sooner rather than later.
The American choir performs during Kim André Arnesen’s opening concert The Wound in the Water, but it also gives a concert entirely on its own during St. Olav Festival. Conspirare comes from the cultural melting pot Austin Texas in the US. After starting in 1991, the choir performed in their home town every summer until its success grew to such an extent that its time calendar was soon full for several years to come.
It has given everything from Christmas concerts to Bach tributes, it has performed in the magnificent Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. This is a versitile, lighthearted choir which approachess score in a unique way: colourfully, harmonically, expressively and especially professsionally.
In 2005, after six Grammy nominations, it was finally awarded the prize for the best choir with the album The Sacred Spirit of Russia. The conductor Craig Hella Johnson has been commended in the Wall Street Journal and presented as one of the most inspiring choir leaders in the world today.
